Dead Colonies

From a newbi stand point.

Where in the game does it talk about how colonies become dead? Not forums the in game wiki thingy

Usually a dome dies if you take out all the colonists or it shrinks utill no colonists remain. If a colony has 3 disasters it also dies. Not sure if it mentions anything else in the Starpedia about it. After the dome dies it will remain approximately 3 days before the dead dome disappears.
