Idea: new cannons....

ive come up with more new cannons enjoy:

Ion Cannon: Fires a blue circle and has a trail of smaller circles following behind

Damage: 75 damage per shot

Bonus Effect: Casuses the player to either bounce around the map, or disable their ship for .5 - 1.5 seconds (2 for 1 limitation for every 1 cannon is 2 cannon spaces)

How this is balanced: This poses a twist in starport, instead of damaging your opponent to death, you can have them bouncing around your map for a while and not be able to approach your dome, place the weapons in the right place and you have your opponent pinned to the point where he cant progress and has to rethink his strategy or he/she can be disabled for what would appear to be an eternity.

Cost: 100,000 credits



Plasma Cannon: Fires a reddish laser like shot towards the player.

Damage: 100

Bonus Effect: Causes continuous damage increasing in intensity for up to 5 seconds in length (10 more damage per second causing up to 150 damage altogether, so it will be 100 starting then 110, 120, 130, 140 and 150) Limited to 10-15 per planet

How this is balanced: There is no weapon in game that does continuous damage so i figured why not?

Cost 150,000 credits

ION CANNON?! ZOMG that would be pwnage! did you think of a whole ring of these with lasers behind it? no chance of escape!

I dont quite understand what ur suggesting with the second one. Do you mean that it would work sort of like hellbore? or do you mean that once it shoots u u get a little extra damage over time (like some RPG weapons that set ur character on fire or poison them)?

damage over time weapons so for 5 seconds it would cause 110 for the first second 120 for the next second 130 then 140 and 150 over a 5 second span.

I'm always a fan of new cannons. I think invading has gotten more and more repetative to the point you arn't really challeneged anymore. 10shot 120 bursts is ok but still isn't gonna phase us, if we wan't the planet we are going to have it, it may just take a lil longer.

New cannons and new effects from cannons would definatly spice things up again.

WE DONT NEED MORE STUFF TO SEE COMPLAINTS ON THE TAVERN!!!!

Edit : maybe different looks to cannons which can be chosen.

As someone once said, "If you paint a turd gold, it will still be a turd."

I don't think changing the skins of cannons will have any appreciable effect on invading. >.>
