Yeaaaahhhh.... They glossed over one of the big issues. We'd need large amounts of negative energy which we just aren't capable of producing now. And likely, we won't be able to produce the vast amounts needed any time soon either. The other thing is that this is only a hypothesis. There is no real world evidence backing this up. It is theoretically possible, but we're a long long way from testing the theory let alone making a warp engine.
