Add a 'Hops remaining' button to the HUD
Make it possible for you to see how many hops you have left without having to access your galaxy map, or add it to the F10 view.

If you don't use the F10 view then it shouldn't bother you one way or another. I just think it'd be an easy addition to the game, useful for travel. It'd also be nice if you could change course in the F10 view much like the in the Alt-G Galaxy Map screen, but if thats too complicated then just focus on the hops remaining, thats all thats really needed.
i absolutly love this idea, and as for placement, put it right above the mini-map and just to the left of the minimap buttons (basically directly above where rojo has it) - it's not overly in the way as there's already buttons there.
If you have no set course, it could either read "Hops Remaining: 0" or simply disappear from the screen while no trip is selected
-- OR --
If you have a system highlighted in your galaxy-map, but you are not actually in progress of the trip, the trips remaining could be written in red, and then change to yellow (or green) once you have /go or /goto (or "go to" on galaxy map).
sorry for the thumbnail - i never use imageshack - and ignore my crappy paint skills....
EDIT - photobucket image added because people have issues opening/closing windows apparently....

Yea I don't care where its put, it'd just be helpful. Thats a perfect spot Nomad.Nomad wrote:i absolutly love this idea, and as for placement, put it right above the mini-map and just to the left of the minimap buttons (basically directly above where rojo has it) - it's not overly in the way as there's already buttons there.

The autopilot button on the right of screen can be clicked on a system in the minimap which will set autopilot to it. The minimap can also be zoomed with the scroll wheel and scrolled by clicking and dragging, so it's pretty damn awesome already.rojo wrote:It'd also be nice if you could change course in the F10 view
As for Hops Remaining, I'd vote for that! Either in the minimap or in that temporary line of text above the chat box.

now...how did it take you a minute to exit the thumbnail?? it pops up in a different window that has a "close" button on it...fireblade211 wrote:took me 1 minutye to finaly exit that thumbnail.... get photobucket man!
and yea, an option to turn it off would be fine - could even put in a little minimization bar for the hops remaining and mini-map buttons - it could be a multi-stage minimization such as the chat window (minimized, normal, full) or the resource bay options (minimized, # and type, or big boxy layout) - this one could be 1)minimize all 2) only mini-map buttons 3) hops remaining and mini-map buttons (if i wasn't at work i'd photoshop my idea...but i am at work so i can't)
all in all, i still think this needs to be added in the next set of patches

theres some other one people have been using lately that really annoys me.... they just post a link, I click a new window comes up it takes a while to load, popup comes up in a new window about stupid smiley's or crap like that, i have to close popup so i can see the first window and a see its just a small picture so i have to click on it and it loads in a seperate window another picture that comes up fullsize but immediately upon loading it goes back down to small and i have to click again....rojo wrote:I <3 Imageshack and its toolbarfireblade211 wrote:imageshack is way to slow to upload and its a peice of crap, i clicked on it, it took 1 minute of white screen, so i exited it, the next day i tryed again and it took 30 seconds and it finaly uploaded, either u have a sucky way of savign them (bmp) or u need to learn to use the real image hoster, photobucket
personally i dont mind imageshack (I use photobucket mainly because im too lazy to switch all my photos over, ive been using photobucket for several years) But unless u minimize the picture (which most people dont use) photobucket comes up in a huge picture and makes the forum screen wider for me and i have to constantly scroll over scroll back scroll over scroll back ... for every line, i dont know if this does it to anyone else but its extremely annoying, i would choose a popup over that anyday
wow that turned out a lot longer than i planned
