I'm not really fond of the whole part-way-between-flaks-and-lasers idea, because then they're pretty much just another one of those turrets with slightly different stats. Giving them unique properties would make a difference to the way they are used to deter invaders.

They aren't meant to be "game changing spectacular" they are SUPPOSED to be an inbetween of flaks and lasers, flaks are shit, but lasers are too expensive/slow to build for a lot of players, that is the point of THIS turret, not as a new method, but a mid-class weapon, so to speak. Stop hijacking this thread, if you want that go make a new idea, this one isn't asking for anything more than a variance on existing stats.
Keep going darker on those white areas.
Oh, and if you think it is a good idea for lasers to be invisible... I am not saying you should do this, but you could change your LaserCannonBullet.tga file to all purple.... I don't think you would like the results.

Final Idea:
Cost: 50k
Firing rate: same as lasers
Range: less than lasers More than Flaks (whichever toonces feels is approproate)
Damage: 110 units per hit
Energy Drain: 20 per hit (not sure what lasers drain)
Fires Single Blue laser bolt.
Base is Black and gray (the looks similar to turkey's post)
I am adding a poll to see if this is acceptable, if not I will re-work it.

Oh. Interesting post speed...
Anyways.... Plasma's color can be alternated, because of lightwave shifts within the whole damn spectrum (plasma is essentially a gas, and can be filtered) and we already have strange weapon names...

Ideas are all good, plus freeman was corped with me at the time on p3. But sometimes they need to be realistic. Considering how little changes in the programming have affected the gameplay so much. For example no pollution was merely a bug a in the game, also old nukes were meant to be like the nukes now, but that was another bug.
What i am getting at is that, at most you'll have small changes implemented, but those will affect the game. Actually i got no idea what i'm going on about, i'm too tired and just going to work.
As for the age, its not really cool when you bring back old and outdated posts. I've seen you do it before and necrophilia isn't something alot of us older players enjoy seeing. I was just doing for your own good to some degree, so that you don't get moaned at by other forum dwellers in the future.

well, even tho i still think it should've have been implemented, i won't repeat it, cuz the thing i hate the most is having plp hate me for something silly, altho in a few days like my thread in the tavern says i will be leaving for real so i won't be here to repeat something like this anyway

but i will try to remember for when i come back.
oh jsuk(just so you know) only posting now cuz the official day i am leaving is in a couple days, will announce it when i have left lol

me too, but like they told me it's so old they didn't like that i brought back a old post, even tho it was good. so i don't know if a lot of plp post that they like the idea maybe it'll get implemented for once but like i said, i won't bring back old threads even though they are good idea's.

how is this an improvement?
i mean ppl are just going to buy the "best" turret so i mean...if its not the best its pointless, if it is the best it makes the game harder. so my question remains, why?
hell if you want something new in your defense system why not be able to drop of NPC ships in your biodome which appear when players land and can be upgraded--> new weapons/ships/more dex
and they could heal over time or you can buy them shields whatever...
a limit of 1 for lvl 1 bio
3 for lvl 2
5 for lvl 3

that's where you are mistaken, plp who know how to defend will mix their defences, for example laser do more damage but they don't take a lot of energy from you, but flaks do take energy but less damage, so someone who is clever will mix it up, same thing for turret it would add a surprise effect.
cuz honestly this game is boring at time, it's part of the reason i am leaving, because it is boring, cuz i don't have the time to take care of the cols, also cuz you have to play every month or you caractor get's deleted, i started a new game at
http://www.piratesonline.com and it is a lot more fun, and since they is no pressure from your charactor to be deleted if i can't play for a month it doesn't matter i can always go back and all is there. not to mention you always have something to do as you are always given a quest. but yes i will go back to SGE one day, just don't know when
