As it was agreed with Toonces we would have these official votes when an idea seemed commonly accepted and agreed upon.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY HERE, REPLY:

http://www.starportgame.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4130

IDEA SUMMARY:

A Planetary aura would be a visual aid around a planet itself to aid the player in Identifying at a glance their personal planet, and/or corp planets in a given system.

This would be in the options menu and could be disabled by players that did not wish to play with it.

The purpose is to aid those like myself who have difficulty memorizing a system and end up flying planet to planet looking for their colonies in the larger systems. or must result in colonizing single ring systems.

My idea is as follows (copied from the origonal thread)

1) if you are in a corp YOUR corp planets as well as other planets in the corporation would have a yellow aura. only you and your corp could see it.

2) all planets you personally own which are not corped have a blue aura that only you can see.

3) planets unowned or held by other people don't show anything. You will still have to scan planets to see if unocupied or find out if they are owned by someone else.

Only your planets and your corps planets would have a visably noticable difference.

This should clarify the idea.

Unlike my other ideas which are mostly outlandish unreasonable ideas, I believe in this and think it will add accessability to the game to those who have dificulties with their memories, and with distinguishing one planet from another in a crowded system. (Both of these are problems for me, and I'm sure it would aid other players in different ways as well)

All this and without giving anyone an advantage over anyone else. It would be useable and available to everyone or able to be turned off if not wanted by the player. (just like tool tips and the language filter)

Thanks.
Maniacus.

This idea has to pass with a 2/3 vote to be submitted to Toonces.

Hmmm, something like the way civilization games do things? Sounds good to me, though perhaps a colored icon would be more feasable than an aura...

This vote was fixed!! If you don't believe me that it was electronically tampered with, then just look at the percents!! 90% + 9% does not equal 100% :P

With all the dozens of regular patches we complain about this would actually be one that alot of people want. so what "3" people would complain about this.

maybe they just like to have an different opinion than everyone else, as a sort of individualisme, or they pressed the wrong button

hmm, well I play frontier wars where there are 1369 players last I logged in, so that means that about 140 players would dislike the new patch if it comes out, and I will bet those 140 players will become the most vocal players there, we should do a recount to make it 0-32, that way in theory everyone would love the new patch, and nobody would complain and I can play in peace :P

Shut your piehole, I just got a reply.

He congratulates on the clear fashion of the summary. So next reports should go like this.

Toonces wrote:Also, the idea is pretty good and we may well implement that some time soon.
Mind that something like this can take up some time, and that he probably has other things planned that have priority.

Sorry if this was already suggested, but wouldn't it just be easier to put a different color, like white, on the mini-map, to indicate which planets you own. Just like players can be red or yellow, etc. A personal planet could be brown, and a corporate colony white.
