Swamp Planet
I think a swamp planet would be cool!!
Main resource export would be oil
Main resource import would be medicine, equipment
polution would increase fast
the special building would be swamp water filtration center or a oil derrick
Population would decrease slowly

Good idea
Great idea. I think that Starport Galactic Empires should really consider this idea. Swamp planet backgrounds inside a biodome should have dead trees with moss hanging from them and water with gunk floating on the top with land masses (like volcanic but with swamp instead).

This thread is a spam one -.- Alternative planet types have been suggest dozens of times; the dev's dont apparently want to mess with having to make new art

To be on topic, I do honestly think there should be more planet types.... and swamps aught to have a really Dense atmosphere, making it nearly as hard to navigate on it as it is to navigate on a greenhouse.

His idea isn't "spam" Talak. Anyone can post an idea but usually you don't set up a poll at this point. Polls are for ideas that have already been widely accepted by the Community and the selection of options have been narrowed down to a few.
"Newbies" and "Vets" can find the search option frustrating. Not always will it provide you with the correct links to previously posted threads. I've often not found something I've searched for only to have someone else give me the correct link after the fact.
Don't be so harsh on newer posters. They have to learn how to post, and explaining to them how to correctly utilize the forum will benefit everyone in the long run. You get more with sugar than vinegar. Be nice.

Talak just posts crap like that because he knows it will up his post count without making it look like hes spamming the forums...
as for the planet we have enough of them that dont work right now as it is
the planet ur proposing would likely not work since it wont produce medicine that in itself would probly severely limit the col... Im not sure though i havent built in a while
but im more worried with the pollution... why on earth would u propose a planet with high pollution... what we need is for them to lower the pollution we have, not institute more planets with high pollution
all in all though now is really not a good time to be proposing new planets when we are having so many problems with the existing ones right now

How about a planet that produces this wierd yellow BBQ that slows pollution down by up to .01-.5% per every load jettisoned on the planet's surface.
Or more importantly, how about the swamps produce extra medicine and anaerobes (swamps teem with plant life and thus tend to be rich in oxygen), and why not enable the swamp to automatically sell excess meds and oil to a market for double the price, in short, this planet would be good for producing the funds to maintain other planets...
In addition, swamps have a high birth rate, but a morale penalty (colonist rationale: "Its too gunky and gross! EWW!" ).
Pollution could be average to high. Air Resistance (the thing that slows your ship down), should be between that of an Earthlike and a greenhouse.

I think you guys have all seen too many star wars movies! First the Jungle planet (Endor) with a special military base (the empires shield generator) and now a swamp planet (where Luke finds Yoda). Both of these planet types require that their be earthlike life, something that none of the other planets do.
