Yet another new building....

Post by SgSpecial180 » Tue Sep 02, 2008 10:20 pm

I dont know if this has been posted before, so bear with me...

How making building entertainment more, well, entertaining? I suggest a new building called the Coliseum. In this building you can set a certain number of colonists to fight to the death, which will help cut down on excess population, and improve morale.

I think that the morale will be impacted by the type of government, such as Prison getting + morale and Democracy losing morale.

The building doesnt even need to be available to all planet types, maybe just Volcanic and Desert....

Any thoughts?

well i really like this, i always felt entertainment should have a bigger impact, like a research for boosting the entertainment therefore more morale, or like u said a building. because right now i never use entertainment because it just a waste, there isn't enough of a morale boost

Yea I think the amount of morale generated should be increased, even if just a lill.

Not so much this Colisseum itself, but I like the idea of buildings and stuff in general where you need to meet requirements that aren't optimal in order to get the best bonus out of it. Anything to remove the current fact that there is only one possible build tree.

Off Subject: Sg, love the avatar!

On subject: So would the coliseum have a slightly negative effect on pop growth but a larger effect on morale?

Yep thats the idea. The effect on pop growth would be negative. The amount of negative growth would be affected by how many colonists are tasked to the Coliseum. The more tasked, the more that die.

The effect on moral would be determined by the type of government. If its a Prison, morale would get a higher bonus. If its a Democracy, then it would be slighly negative, but the effect would probably canceled out as the crowdedness goes down, and morale improves.

The whole idea is to improve morale and keep the population # in check.
