If you run the old Windows XP operating system, you can still play Starport.
Install the game as normal, then follow these steps after installation has finished.
Here are instructions for running updating Starport to run on Windows XP:
1. Download the file StarportWinXP.exe from http://www.starportgame.com/StarportWinXP.exe
2. Copy this file into your Starport directory (usually something like C:\Program Files\StarportGE\ or C:\Users\Yourname\StarportGE, etc.).
3. Delete your old Starport Desktop Icon. You will now be launching the program by running the file StarportWinXP.exe rather than using Launcher.exe. After
the old shortcut is removed, right click on the file StarportWinXP.exe and choose Create Shortcut. The shortcut icon created will be your new way to start up
Starport.
That's it! Let me know if you have any trouble or questions.
Also, remember that Microsoft dropped support for Windows XP operating system in April 2014, so you will eventually need to buy that new computer. Support for XP will continue to erode so it's best to upgrade asap.

Re: How to run Starport with Windows XP
Looks like I may have broken the XP version somehow. Please try repeating the steps above if you are an XP user.
