My starport is...strange

By strange, I mean that the words are backwards and the background is upside down at the start up. It is also saying it 'experienced an error' and shut down after it asks me to send an error report to microsoft

I had EXACTLY this problem when I tried to run the game in windows mode!

The only way I could get round it was by uninstalling then reinstalling game and leaving it on 'full screen' mode.

Windows mode dosn't like me :(

I reinstalled it and it still didnt work... and i cant change it to full until im logged in which is impossible for me now that it wont load....my computer must be trying to make me mad... *pulls out shotgun*

When you start classifying a game as work, its a signal of playing too much anyway, maybe toonces is helping you? 8)

I think I figured out what happened. The download was messed up so i used my first set up.

in the code of sge there is a spot where it says fullscreen true or false... idk dont mess with the code untill toonces replies with what you should do,

just for future reference you CAN change from windowed to full screen mode without logging in. ptt staff replied in another post with precisely what file u needed to open to do so.

File is client.cfg, what is to be changed is "fullscreen=false", then edit it to true.

Back in late September '08, every computer I had suddenly stopped running SGE. I never figured out what the problem was and had to quit the game. Was sure glad I was able to transfer the CEO hat to another player on the servers I played before everything really got wonky.

Course, the Wednesday before the USA Thanksgiving, installed the software and imagine my surprise when it worked. I think I heard screams of terror when I logged in to a few of the servers I play. :twisted:
