Game/Forum Conduct Rules

Post by Toonces » Mon Jun 12, 2006 6:39 pm

Forum Rules of Conduct

These guidelines apply to the official Starport web site forums which you are now viewing. Please take a moment to read them over so you know the rules. Breaches of these rules will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Possible consequences range from the lock or deletion of posts or the loss of posting privileges via a ban.

1.) If your post is locked or deleted it was done for a reason. Do not make the same post again even if you do not agree with the reason for the lock/deletion. Any reposts will be locked or deleted. Continuing violations may result in banning. If you have a grievance the best way to express it would be a polite PM (private message) to the moderator locking and/or deleting your posts.

2.) Posts that are not related to Starport in any way may be locked or deleted without warning or explanation needed.

3.) Topics should have a clear description, and should be posted in the correct forum (Tavern/Launch pad/Research Lab/Engineering).

4.) Be respectful of others. Personal attacks, harassment, and excessive use of harsh language are not allowed.

5.) Do not advertise for non-Starport related internet sites. Do not post excessively large amounts of content or repetitive content (spam).

6.) Do not post on behalf of someone who has been banned from the forums.

7.) If you have been banned, do not create a new account. If you have questions about the loss of posting privileges, send email to

Starport Game Management

General Game rules of Conduct:

We at Starport management are enthusiastic about players expressing themselves, being unique, and playing the game any way they desire. That's why very few people ever get banned from Starport. However, sometimes it becomes necessary to ban someone, and we will do so any time we see fit and without needing any reason. That said, you won't get banned if you follow the simple rules.

1. Do not excessively harass other people beyond the construct of the game.

2. Do not create more than 1 character in the same galaxy. The rule is 1 character per person per galaxy. You can play in more than one galaxy, but do not control two characters in the same galaxy. Do not use more than one login account. One login account is sufficient per person.

3. Do not attempt to hack or cheat the game to gain an unfair advantage over other players or otherwise.

4. Any unauthorized financial transactions at the Admiral's Club are investigated to the best of our abilities and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This includes using the Admiral's Club if you are under 18 which is strictly prohibited. You must have your parent or guardian use the Admiral's Club to make the transaction.

Please do not release modification packages to Starport. Because of certain reasons including the fact that it could break the patching system, we can't allow 3rd party modifications to Starport. This includes skins.

Changes to Starport must come through the starport patching system. If you have worked on new art such as a skin, you are welcome to submit it to us for inclusion in the game. We can add new content such as skins, they just have to come through the official patching system.

3rd party mods are not allowed at this time.

Speaking of patches, sometimes the administrators need to patch the game or change a rule. We hate to change important rules out from under you, but we reserve the right to do so when we feel a change is necessary.
