Even though your enthusiasm is great for Starport, I am reluctant to inform you that this is simply not possible.
Please do not be disheartend for your efforts so far are greatly appreciated.
Oh dear I forgot I am not Head of PTT or anything so if you believed this then you are right now reproducing with my alien friend who has transformed himself into your keyboard.
If you did not believe the above then it is your mouse the alien has transformed into.

Yeah as long as you follow the rules listed on the banners page about not modifying them etc and if you're hosting them for redistribution please include the same rule. There's a zip file there with them all included.RiveraK2 wrote:NICE! I don't know what you're in charge of at Playtechtonics; so you might
not be the correct person that I should be asking this to:
May I host those banners on Starport Online as part of a Multimedia section?
I put the updated images on my one page here http://www.chezpoor.com/minesweeper. It gets about 6000 hits and 1.3 clickthroughs for S:GE per day, and its a decent demographic - bored kids looking for a game to play.
Its set to rotate 2/3 of the time with the new Flash version and 1/3 with the old static images.

well i intend to use the flash banner on my site, if u don't mind. gonna take the flash "http://www.starportgame.com/banners/728x90.swf" my site is this by the way http://www.yourgamingspacestation.com
oh just so you know you might have issues with the security certificate, if you get a warning just click continue.
PS: the reason why there is a security certificate is because my dad needs that site for his work and verizon, won't let a normal site be hosted without paying, so my dad figured out that you can host a site on a secured site without being blocked by verizon, and the security certificate issue is because my dad doesn't believe in paying 500$ per month to be registered in the trusted list. and yes i know there are plenty of free hosting site, out there but none of them are able to support me since my site in total reaches almost 100GB because of all the free full version games, so hope the site works for you.
and also right now only the forum is up, but later the rest of the site will be uploaded to the server and the main page will be different.
later: http://www.yourgamingspacestation.com will be the main site and http://www.yourgamingspacestation.com/mvnforum will be the direct address for the forum
so even thought i will take the flash version of the banner, it won't be up right away i still need to work on the main site
*takes a big breather* sorry for typing so much but wanted everyone to know these details, for those who intended to check the site out

Any updates? If you haven't gotten very far in the tokens thing I'll give you an example (I don't know PHP very well, I hate it ;P)
1. User clicks banner
2. Banner sends info to "affiliates" database that increments the owner's admiral tokens up by x amount.
3. Affiliates database confirms transaction and moves tokens to the player's account. (Should provide an extra layer of defense against haxorz)
Banners should be "installable", requiring the user to enter his name into a text file or something and the banner would use that to query the database. Simple.

banners are nice but embedded script is needed
To make it easier to use the banners. To easily copy and send them in starportgame, facebook, my yearbook, and others place a code under each banner with the embedded code so you can just copy and paste it in guestbooks, messages, emails, etc... now thats a great idea

any news on making admiral tokens? I just thought of something too:
Use an "affiliate link" system, like a person gets an ID when they register and someone who clicks on the starport picture and joins starport inputting the ID would give hte person an extra 5k starting creds and the person who's ID was inputted would get a bunch of tokens. Good idea?
